28. Competitions


28.1 Competitions should be conducted fairly, prizes should be described accurately and rules should be clear and made known.

Clearcast requires sight of the terms and conditions of any competition that is either referred to in, or that can be entered from, an ad.

Clearcast will ensure that significant conditions for entering competitions must be stated, normally in super-imposed text, in advertisements. Significant conditions are likely to include closing date, age or geographical restrictions and the number and type of prizes. Depending on their nature, Clearcast may ask for more conditions to be included in advertisements.
